Halloween 1989 - your weekly Frosted Designs challenge!

Patterned Papers: Pink Paislee, My Mind's Eye //Cardstock: Bazzill // Ink: Close To My Heart // Stickers: EK Success // Border Punch: Fiskars

This week's challenge at Frosted Designs is to create a fall or Halloween themed project and is hosted by one of my favorite Lucky Girls, Kim!

Lately I've been digging through boxes of photos from when I was a kid, so when I came across these pictures it was perfect! This picture was of me and my brothers more than twenty years ago. I'm 9 in this pic, my brother Jordan is only 4 and Justin is 7. It's so funny to think that now all of us have kiddos that fall within these ages.

Get your hands on the fun & funky Basic Grey Sugar Rush card kit before they're gone!!!

Hi Friends,

AC Bailey is now offering the super-popular Basic Grey Sugar Rush card kit, containing everything you need to create beautiful, springy/Valentine's cards for just $15 plus shipping & tax! (See attached for a pic of this cute kit!) This kit contains enough patterned paper, die cuts, printed & scored cardstock bases, rub-ons, printed chipboard and envelopes for 8 cards - that's less than $2/card!

To guarantee that you get a kit, I will be accepting PRE-ORDERS through this Saturday, January 23. Kits should be delivered to me & available for pick up likely around Feb. 5-8. All orders must be pre-paid via PayPal by this Saturday to guarantee your kit.

I'd also highly recommend adding on a Mystery Box - for just $15, your mystery grab bag will be filled with a huge assortment of high quality products - from stickers, embellishments, brads, rub-ons and more, each kit is different and includes at least $25 worth of products, a deal you don't want to pass up!

Please let me know as soon as possible if you are wanting either the Sugar Rush kit or any other products from the store. I can order everything at once to save you money on shipping, and if I get enough orders, shipping will be free! I also have an "in" for BRAND SPANKIN' NEW MAYA ROAD products - direct from CHA, that can be put on this pre-order, too.

For those of you who signed up for my Bo Bunny Love Bandit Altered Album/Wall Hanging Workshop next Saturday, January 30th, we will be meeting at the New Castle Community Center from 12-4 p.m. I ordered one extra set - so if you or anyone you know might still be interested, please let me know ASAP. That class cost is $30.

The next Girl's Night Out crop is Friday, February 19th from 6-10 p.m. at the Silt Fire Station. $10 for two cute projects from myself and Candice from Stampin' Up, plus food, drink & plenty of space to spread out & craft! RSVP by Feb. 17th.

The following Sunday, February 21st is my Love Always 4-page scrapbooking workshop. I also have a few more spots for this, too, and may be offering a Sunday Special Crop - in addition to the workshop - to give everyone an little break before a crazy week to get some crafting done. More details to follow soon. In the mean time, if you would like to take one of the remaining spots for the Love Always class, the fee is $24 due no later than Feb. 5th.

Thanks again for all of your friendship & support!

Merry Little Christmas Mini-Album (Post #2 for today!)

This Christmas our family is going to do something a little different - instead of the kiddos getting masses of toys under the tree from Santa, we'll be celebrating the 12 days of Christmas and each day, we'll honor a different person or family that has touched our lives. I wanted to create something special to document our first go at this type of celebration, and here's what I came up with:
This altered Maya Road binder with envelopes with Cosmo Cricket papers
This chipboard album was awesome - it had four tabbed dividers and four adorable, old-fashioned little envelopes (though I only used one for this album). It was really easy to make and I just loved the vintage charm of the Cosmo Cricket papers.

I also used a little Bazzill cardstock, Tim Hotlz Distress Ink, Pink Paislee papers, Making Memories charms and ribbon, Close To My Heart hardware, stamps and brads, and some Stampin' Up ribbon and hat pin.

To clean up the holes for the chipboard inserts and any rough edges, I used my Crop-o-Dile and Basic Grey Precision Files and Tim Hotlz sanding block.

Almost everything from this album can be purchased at my online shop at AC Bailey Designs, where we have FREE SHIPPING next Tuesday, December 1st (and the first of every month) with orders over $35! If you have more questions or would like dimensions for this album, please feel free to email me at jasafras98@yahoo.com.

My little punkin' head!

First off, let's just point out the glaringly obvious:

1) I can't seem to take a clear picture of my projects lately to save my life. Seriously. I don't know what the problem is!!!

2) Don't you just love all the fingerprints? Awesome, I know. You can tell my kiddos have been looking through the photo boxes again!

LOL! Good thing I'm not a perfectionist!!! =p

Anywho, this layout is for the most recent Freaky Friday challenge over t the AC Bailey Designs forum. The challenge this week was to create a layout using fall colors - orange, yellow, green and brown and somehow incorporate a leaf or pumpkin. I used all of my pumpkin patch pics last year - though I guess I haven't posted them yet so I could have cheated a little bit had I actually remembered that before now. (just kidding!)
This uses Stampin' Up cardstock, Close To My Heart cardstock, brad and chipboard, American Crafts patterned paper and Making Memories twill and letter stickers.
Thanks for stopping by!

2 Cute 2 Spook - ACB Freaky Friday Challenge

What a weekend! After enjoying a night out with my friend on Friday for dinner and Zombieland - which, surprisingly I really liked, my son fell ill with a really high fever and nasty, hacking cough. He was a little better yesterday afternoon, so we had family date day with Chinese food for lunch and costume shopping. After 6 months of Sophia telling me she wants to be a witch for Halloween, we got to Target and she changed her mind. Now she's going as Daphne from Scooby Doo, and Andrew's going as a wizard.
Later that night, Andrew's fever and cough were back in full force. Now Sophia's complaining of a sore throat and she's a little warm to boot. Bummer... it looks like it's going to be a long week! I did get lots of house work and laundry done, plus this stinkin' cute layout.
This was done for the Freaky Friday Challenge at AC Bailey Designs forum. Did you know that if you win one of the Freaky Friday Challenges that you get a $10 gift certificate to the store? Pretty awesome, in my opinion. We've got lots of great deals over there right now too! Check it out.
The challenge this week was to create a layout using punches to create a background design. On this, I used my old CM circle punch to create a faux-scalloped circle background and the Fiskars apron lace punch for the purple Bazzill cardstock. Almost everything here was from my October Goodies of the Month kit, including the Bazzill cardstock, Pink Paislee patterned paper for the small circles and Making Memories Halloween pins. I also used a little My Mind's Eye Nightlight paper for the big circle, Bo Bunny ribbon and Sizzix swirly stamps, plus some Close To My heart letter stamps & inks. Minus the CTMH products, everything else I used can be found at the ACB store.

Kickin' it old school - bust out those decorative scissors!

When my step-mom first got me into scrapbooking a million years ago, I got several pairs of decorative scissors. I kept them and used them often through Andrew's first baby album, but I can't say as I've done much with them since. When our challenge came up this week at Practical Scrappers, I had to dig through the kiddo's art box to find a pair!

I totally wimped out and used the most non-threatening decorative scissors I had in stash - which luckily was my only pair, so I was safe! The edge on the purple & green strips were made using my scallop scissors - these were the inverted (upside down) pieces to create a wavy look instead of the girly scallops.

Overall I really enjoyed how my layout turned out. This uses supplies from the AC Bailey Goodies Kit of the Month for October - stinkin' cute! Including Pink Paislee patterned papers (from which also came the tag) & glittery brad. The glittery swirls are from Marcella by K and the flower is an ink-distressed daisy from Wal-Mart's faux floral section.
Thanks for looking!

Getting Edgy With It! Freaky Friday Challenge @ ACB

The Freaky Friday challenge over at the AC Bailey forum this week was to use two different edges in a layout or card - neither could be a scallop. Aggh! That killed me, because scallops are my favorite shape to play with. But - I just recently got an order from AC Bailey that had two packages of Bazzill Just the Edges Die Cut Strips - something I didn't think I'd use all that often, but now I use all the time.
I got the strips in brown and white - so I used the brown one as it was and just ink-distressed it slightly to match the paper - Elliott by Scrap within Reach. The green ric-rack started out as white, but I direct-to-paper inked it to the green to coordinate with the rest of the layout. I love how it turned out and wish I had made some big dinosaur or something - it would have been perfect for a stegosaurus. This green ric-rack also got the once over with dark cocoa ink. I also trimmed out a heart from one of my edge strips and tied a ribbon around the funky thin edge to hide the distortion. =)
The layout was topped off with American Crafts Thickers.
All supplies minus the buttons can be purchased here.
How edgy can you be? Be sure to enter your layout or creation in the AC Bailey Forum and Gallery by Thursday night for your chance to win a $10 gift certificate to ACB!

ACB Card Challenge #10

The only other challenge last night was the card sketch challenge (challenge #10 in the ACB Fall On-line Crop Forum). Here is the sketch:

And here's my take:

This clear card was made with a transparency sheet, Imaginesce Twitterpated papers & brads, Stampin' Up rub-on & stamp sentiment and random ribbon & flowers. Thanks for stopping by!

ACB On-Line Fall Crop Challenge #6

Here's my first project for the AC Bailey Designs Fall On-Line crop, going on now! I had big plans to get a lot done last night, but Michael & I were watching last season's Grey's Anatomy - what a tear jerker! So, needless to say, not a whole lot of scrapping happened!

Challenge #6 over at ACB forum is to create a layout following this sketch to the T! It's supposed to be about an everyday moment, which mine is not. That's what happens when I read the directions on the fly!

And here's my take on it:

My layout uses Close To My Heart papers, cardstock, stickers, flower & button, a strip of Jenni Bowlin paper, Stampin' Up rubon and Thickers for the title.

ACB Kick Off Crop Projects

In between dinner and getting the kiddos into bed, I managed to get everything cut and the examples prepped for tomorrow night's ACB Kick Off Crop in Silt. Those drop by will have a choice between a scrapbook layout and a card project.

Both were created with Pink Paislee's Captivating papers, Bazzill Cardstock, October Afternoon Stamps and creamy-dreamy Powder Puffs ink in Mocha Mama. The layout features puffy Thickers (chit chat) from American Crafts and Flora Doodle flowers.
The butterfly on this card was trimmed from an edge strip from Bazzill's Just the Edge die cut strip pack. It also uses Bazzill Dotted Swiss cardstock and Close To My Heart Ribbon, plus miscellaneous button and twine.
I'm pretty jazzed with how these both turned out. I can't wait to share thes projects in person tomorrow with all of my crafty friends - plus a few new ones who are joining me too. Now I'm off to create more fun-ness.

I think I'm in scrap love! Falling into fun with ACB!

Look what I got today!

It's my new consultant kit goodies from AC Bailey Designs. I'm in love! I'm so excited to get to play with all this greatness - and excited to share it with my friends! Here are a few close-up pics of what I got today. Careful - don't drool too much on the keyboard. LOL!

The super-stinkin'-cute Twitterpated line with teal glitter Lullaby Thickers:

The super fun Lime Rickey line from Basic Grey with lime vinyl Poolside Thickers, plus the fun Bo Bunny album, Maya Road Chipboard and October Afternoon stamps:

My First Tri-Fold Card

I don't know about you, but I'm horrible at following written directions! I'm a visual learner and usually have to see how something is done before I can do it myself. When I couldn't find the tutorial I had saved for this card from Splitcoast Stampers, I was so worried that I wouldn't be able to make it. I had to revert to my memory (an even scarier thought!) and after a few tries at the folding, I decided that the finished project didn't turn out too shabby.

I created this card for the Freaky Friday challenge over at AC Bailey Designs. They challenged you to use multiple folds in a card project so I created this tri-fold card.

(And yes, I know it's {technically} Tuesday, but since Friday, I've had to leave town for a memorial service, come back for my son's baptism, go out of town to deal with our rental property, and come back to town for birthday festivities. And this was just this weekend!)

After all was said and done, this was a pretty easy card to make. I'd tell you how, but you'd probably get confused, so instead I'm going to refer you to where I saw it originally - at Splitcoast Stampers. Their step-by-step tutorials are great!

The end product is a 4"x6" little bundle of love created primarily with Close To My Heart products, including the new FaLaLa paper packet and glitter(!) rub-ons.

In fact, the only things that aren't Close To My heart is the stitched ribbon (Stampin' Up), the blue glitter for the snow swirls on the front (Martha Stewart). and the orange for the carrot nose (courtesy of Crayola)

As always, thanks for looking!
