Hi Friends!

Oh, and did you know it's Christmas in July at Lucky Girl Crafts?
You get a FREE GIFT with any order placed in our store - the bigger your purchase, the more goodies you'll see under your tree in your mail!

Without further ado, here's my mini... a memory box sized perfectly for vacation photos and mementos (5"x6") - though this weekend I'll be taking in my carry-on luggage on my flight to Boston, filled with card-making supplies and trinkets. I need something to keep me occupied for 4 hours!

With a little sparkle and bling, it's going to capture all of our "flashy" beach memories. Aren't those Bo Bunny papers & accents divine?

A little sparkle and shine included with the casual design mimic the summer sights.

Some foam pop dots add dimension to the hibiscus journaling shape and a few more add a little extra pop to the metal trinket. These were combined with the chipboard alpha, which was painted over with Shimmerz watercolors and spritzed with glimmer mist for a watery effect.

Now, for my projects:

With three graduations to go to, a congratulations card was at the top of my creative list!

This one was inspired by this week's Sketchy Thursdays challenge. The bright colors and funky prints were fabulous for Sophia's mommy & me birthday pedi pics from last year. I dyed my Color Me Crazy silk flower with Tattered Angels mist, so it's got even more glitz & glam to it!

Some of you may have seen this one for the Sketch Inspiration project prompt last week, but it remains one of my all-time faves. The bright colors from the Pink Paislee papers, paired with the thin silk ribbon and American Crafts brad created perfect harmony for our beach vacation.

Be sure to invite your friends & check out more great kit inspiration by playing along in our blog party hop! Your next stop is EMILY

Midweek Triple Treat - Homemade Happiness Blog Party Day 2

Since the Lucky Girl Crafts monthly party is only three short days, and I've got more than EIGHT layouts to share that I've created with our March kit - "Homemade Happiness", I figured I'd post a bunch of them for you today.
This first one uses a lot of the scraps I had left over from the Echo Park "For the Record" Apron Strings & Noteworthy papers for the main elements. For the ticket (from the Noteworthy paper), I punched small half-circles to give it more of an authentic ticket stub appearance. I also used a bunch of the flowers I created for last week's feature on Ideas for Scrapbookers.
The fun patterns and bright colors were perfect for our trip to the Denver Art Museum!

I created another fun, bright layout with Echo Park papers for our trip to our favorite ice cream shop - Golden Sweets in Golden, CO. (If you're in the area, I definitely recommend the all-natural, organic, locally-made ice cream. It's delicious!)
The black-and-white checkerboard flooring complimented the vintage feel of this paper. Not to mention, the perfectly coordinating piece of Prima packaging from the Damsels packaging. Sweet!

Finally, a fun & bright Easter layout for my girl & her bestie. Some beautiful American Crafts pearly paper, a little Echo Park, fancy Prima swirls & flower, K&Co. emphemera, plus a little Tseniko spray & Bazzill pom trim = fabulous!

I don't know about you, but I am a sucker for a great deal - especially when it's to add to my scrapbooks that I'll always cherish. We're having a fantastic sale at Lucky Girl Crafts this month. Check it out!

C'mon & get scrappy! Our Homemade Happiness party is in full swing!

Hi friends! I'm so glad you were able to join us for this month's party. I was able to play with Homemade Happiness kit all weekend long at a retreat with my favorite friends, and got more than EIGHT layouts, SIX cards and a Friday Fun Day project with beautiful details.

You can't beat the value you get with Lucky Girl Crafts kits - just $29.99 when you purchase it individually, or even more affordable with one of our subscriptions or our awesome March monthly deal -
I used the Echo Park "For the Record" Borders & Apron Strings papers, along with two of the Making Memories buttons and an organza flower to create a layered fan-fold flower. This awesome, unique embellishment was pretty easy to do, and it went perfectly with the muted colors of the K&Co. ephemera and Prima Damsels (flowers) - everything that could be found in this month's amazing kit, "Homemade Happiness". Can you tell that I just ADORE this kit?!

Fun & Fanciful - LGC Blog Party FINAL DAY!

Hello! We've almost made it through the week - woohoo! This is also the last day of the February Lucky Girl Crafts blog party, celebrating our latest kit, "Kid at Heart". This kit is awesome, and so jammed pack that today isn't actually the last time you'll see my projects from it this month. I've got so many more to share with you, but for today, I'll give you two projects!
Before we get to my latest projects, though, have you visited the rest of the Lucky Girls? Each of them has a prize to give away, and the new team is rocking our latest kit! Be sure to check them out & give them a warm welcome - their links are in the posting above.
In the spirit of our celebration, here's a little birthday card. I love the little animals from the Prima papers, especially paired with the vintage-funk of the Echo Park patterns and metallic Studio 54 adhesive embellies. Don't they make just sweet little balloons?
And finally, a little tribute to a family stay-cation. We brought my mother-in-law to town for a round of mini golf, and the fun number paper was a perfect mimicking of our score cards - especially since we don't really keep accurate scores.
I did a lot of fussy-cutting here, with the Echo Park flowers. I further embellished them with the Mod Podge Dimensional Glaze and pop dots, which created a natural curled effect. I also added Dimensional Glaze to the centers of the small green flowers, and, though you can't really tell, to the glittered chipboard Thickers. I really love how that turned out!

So proud... LGC Blog Party Day 2

Hey there. Thanks for joining us for our second day of celebrating the latest Lucky Girl Crafts kit, "Kid at Heart." If you're new to the party, check out the post above for details. And be sure to visit the rest of the Lucky Girls - you might get Lucky too!

Today's project brings out the bright, fun patterns to light with the Bo Bunny papers and some of my fave little embellies included in the kit.

Like any mom, I think my kiddos are the best. But sometimes, it's hard not to be super, over the moon, wildly, amazingly proud. This summer, my son and I went on a bike ride with my book club friends. What I thought was going to be a quick trip to the next town over (somehow, I forgot that this town is 12-1/2 miles away) was sooo long, and sooo hot. Uphill there, and we hit the headwind home, there were times when I wanted to quit. Seriously, I was about to call my husband to pick me up. But my son, Andrew? Nope. Not really. Sure, he wasn't thrilled the first mile, but after that - all I could say was WOW! Anyhow, I digress. (But thanks for letting me gloat about my awesome son!)

Check out what I created:

To frame the picture of my awesome son and Mt. Sopris in the background, I used the bright and fanciful colors of the Bo Bunny Block Party papers.

I fussy cut around some of the flourishes, and added a little Mod Podge Dimensional Glaze and scissor distressing to the largest designs. I traced the white, glittered Thickers, and traced my journaling around the core elements of the layout.

Finally, if you stuck with me through my proud parent/proud scrapper moment, who wants to get Lucky?

Each of the Lucky Girls on our blog party has some Lucky Bucks to give away, and each day of the party you'll have another chance to enter to win! Just follow these simple steps for a chance to win $7 Lucky Bucks to our store for my stop in the Blog Party!

Ringing in the new year with Lucky Girl Crafts!

Happy New Year, my friends! I hope this year finds you blessed with love & laughter, joy & prosperity, and of course - many crafty days!

Since today is the first of the month, it's the start of our January Blog Party! Join the Lucky Girls through Monday, January 3 for three days of amazing inspiration geared to help you kick off the new year in creative style. As always, there's also FIVE chances to win! Be sure to read on for more details...

Filled with tender romance, beauty and timeless charm, this kit is perfect for showcasing the loves of your life, spring beauty and precious moments. Vintage elements take on modern appeal with delicate trimmings, faux postage stamps, metallic rub-ons, and acrylic papers. It's a kit you'll fall in love with every time you take it out to play!

Want to get your hands on one of these amazing kits? There's only a handful of these kits left in the store, so you better hurry!

Here's my first take on this awesome kit -
a layout inspired by Creative Sketches sketch #135

I took the plain white Color Me Crazy Petaloo flowers and sprayed the smaller ones with glimmer mists, and painted the large one with Glimmerz water colors. I added my leftover Prima flourish from our September kit, some Tim Holtz adage tickets from our August kit, and a little of my ribbon stash, but besides that, everything you see is from the lovely January kit.

I love that "Forever Love" combines bright colors with Victorian elegance - since a lot of the colors are similar it really gives a neat way to pair the different styles.

Want to see more? Definitely stop by to see what the rest of the Lucky Girls have created:

Thanks for stopping by the Lucky Girl Blog Party!!!

Thanks for joining me for another installment of our Lucky Girl Monthly Blog Party!

If you're just joining us, be sure to stop by the main blog and follow the party through each of our designer's blogs for tons of inspiration and chances to win scrappy RAKs by clicking here.

This month we got to play with this delicious kit,
Summer Vacation:

I LOVE this kit! OK, so I'll admit that I'm probably a little biased, seeing as I actually put the kit together... but still. I think this is one of my favorite assortment of products bundled in one happy little spot that I've seen in a long time. I was able - with some creative cutting - to get five fully embellished layouts and a set of three cards out of the kit - that's about $3.75 per project! Not too bad when the typical scrapbook page cost between $7-$12 each, and a normal store-bought greeting card is around $3.99. Plus, I still have some leftovers for other projects. Gotta love when your buck stretches so far, right?!

Are you a Lucky Girl? Get full kit details and purchasing information is available by visiting our store at www.luckygirlcrafts.com

Lucky Girl monthly kits are a great value at only $30/month + shipping.
Annual subscriptions will be offered for $28/month + shipping with bigger discounts for annual pre-paid subscriptions available!
Shipping is available
world-wide, so no matter where you are, you can be a Lucky Girl!

The LUCKY GIRL BLOG PARTY runs Thursday, July 1 through Saturday, July 4
Scroll on for more details...

Each day of the Blog Party, our incredibly talented, amazingly awesome design team will be posting a new project for you that was created with the July kit – Summer Vacation! Oh, and did I mention that each Lucky Girl has MYSTERY PRIZES to give away, with a GRAND PRIZE on the main blog?

Here's my first project, a fun layout for my nearly 11-year-old son Andrew's baby album using only ONE sheet of Pink Paislee double-sided patterned paper, a strip of 4"x12" Cranberry American Crafts cardstock (halved), and a 4-3/4"x9" block of Denim American Crafts cardstock.

Here's how I was able to stretch my Pink Paislee Starlight - Spark double sided patterned paper:

I cut out a 2"x12" strip and flipped the pattern over to incorporate those fun and bright stripes. I reattached the reversed patterned paper with two 2"x12" strips that had been punched with the Fiskars Threading Water border punch.

This layout also includes:
Alphas: Pink Paislee Expressions Weathered Wood chipboard alphas; Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type alphas and Jenni Bowlin Play Date banner stickers
Embellishments: (All American Crafts) Grosgrain Checkered Ribbon; Pearl Brad; Journaling Sticker

Find artwork & inspiration for our latest kit, Summer Vacation, by following the party to these amazing designers…

5-Minute Valentine Card / Practical Scrappers Blog Hop Challenge #1!

Here's my first Valentine project for this weekend's Practical Scrappers blog hop! I'll debut another project each day through Monday, when I announce the winner of my blog candy!

This card took all of five minutes from start to finish. Most of the products came from this kit from JuJu Bee's Scrapbook Corner, featuring patterned paper from Glitz Designs - both of which are Practical Scrappers sponsors. I ordered this adorable kit last Wednesday and got it in the mail on Tuesday - I was so pleased with the quick turnaround and great price! Be sure to check both of these companies out!

I cut the heart out of double-sided patterened cardstock from Glitz Designs, and the scallop border was cut from the opposite side of the same sheet. I cut out a black square slightly larger than the heart and distressed everything with my Powder Puffs Midnight Confessions ink. The cardstock is Double Dot cardstock from Bo Bunny - which may now officially be my hands down favorite cardstock. One side has coordinating dots and the other side is a solid color and the texture is amazing. I added rub-on letters from Making Memories for my sentiment and a fun black dashed ribbon to top it all off, and it was all set to go!

Let me know what you think and become a follower on my blog for a chance to win some amazing Valentine's Day Blog Candy - and don't forget to particpate in the rest of the Practical Scrappers Blog Hop throughout the weekend for more great projects and more chances to win!!!

Always - for the All About Me blog hop challenge

All About Me Challenges - one of the Challenge Blog Hop participants, challenged their readers to submit a layout based on any one of their design team's layouts. It's no surprise that I chose Mette's layout (below):

I loved the die cut paper and mix of many different patterns and embellies. What fun!

Here's my take on Mette's layout:
I used a bunch of products from many different lines, and I am really pleased with how it turned out. The background paper is Stampin' Up, as is the ribbon and the light purple hearts; the rest of the patterned paper is an old Making Memories line, so is the brown polkadot flower. The ink is Powder Puff. The title is from Me & My Big Ideas (also old) and the flowers are a mix of Prima, Bazzill and Oriental Trading Co. The pearls are from Close To My Heart. I used myJenni Bowlin die cut paper as my template.

Die Cut Mini Album - Challenge Blog Hop

My! this has been such a busy weekend! I've been cropping away at the Fall into Scrapping on-line crop at AC Bailey Designs' forum, plus there's been an exciting challenge blog hop that I'm participating for with Practical Scrappers.

There are lots of prizes out there in cyber land to be won, my friends! Be sure to visit the fun sites to get a little mojo moving and a chance to win!

The hop is hosted by Scrapsketch - if you haven't checked it out yet, definitely do it soon! Each of the 10 or so sites is hosting their own challenge and giving away TONS of sweet prizes!

The challenge over at Practical Scrappers is to use die cuts, so I broke out my Journaling Spots from Close To My Heart to create a fun and quick little album. I've had this project in mind ever since I got these spots, but it wasn't until I got back the pictures from my kiddos old-time photo shoot this summer that everything fell into place.

The journaling spots I used varied in sizes and shapes ovals, circles and squares ranging in size from 2"x2", 2-1/2"x3", 3"x4" and everywhere in between.

I traced some fun chipboard shapes onto regular transparency sheets (I purchased 100 8-1/2"x11"sheets at Office Depot for something like $25) and trimmed them out for a few accent pieces as the cover and on the inside of my album.

The first transparency was cut into a heart shape for my cover page. I adorned this with rub-ons for my title, a tiny flower and a little bit of bling.

Next, I trimmed the edge of the oval journal spot so it was easier to bind together cleanly in the finished project:

Next I left one of the journaling spots plain because it was just too cute - it worked great just as it was left open for journaling. I added another little flower and bling to jazz it up a bit:

I had a few clear acrylic shapes lying around, including a little photo clip that I tied to the front, and this little flower that I used on the inside. Again, I used some rub-ons and bling.

The last transparency I cut into a brackety shape and added a bling circle, rub-on word and flower.

The album ends with a picture of old-timey Sophia.

Once everything was complete, I punched holes to the album using my Crop-o-Dile and added 3/4" binder rings to hold it all together, then added scraps of ribbon around the rings to add a little pizazz.
Thanks for visiting!

A new take on old die cuts

This is such a busy weekend! I'm participating in the on-line crop over at AC Bailey Designs, and they've announced that the one and only Jenni Bowlin herself will be having a chat in the forum tomorrow at 8 pm MST (cool!), plus there's a huge challenge blog hop hosted by Scrapsketch that Practical Scrappers is participating in. Both of these exciting events are giving away tons of prizes - if you have a second, check them out! Hopefully I'll get TONS done this weekend - let's see what real life brings, though!

This is my first challenge entry of the weekend. Practical Scrappers has challenged the blog hop followers to use die cuts of any shape, size or kind in a project. At first, I've got to admit that I was a little nervous about this. I don't have a Cricut or Cuttlebug, or any other kind of cool and trendy die cut machine (just friends who love me and let me play with theirs!), so I was a little stuck. After a little digging, I came across these die cuts that I purchased when a scrapbook store opened in our little town... 6 years ago! Oops....

The fancy girl and flowers are from My Minds Eye *I think?!* and the polka dot frame die cut is from Making Memories - also purchased many years ago. I added a little bling and sparkly Making Memories letter stickers, plus a little bit of satiny ribbon to wrap around my card. The papers are from Close To My Heart.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope to see more of you later this weekend!
