Here's my first take on this awesome kit -
a layout inspired by Creative Sketches sketch #135

I took the plain white Color Me Crazy Petaloo flowers and sprayed the smaller ones with glimmer mists, and painted the large one with Glimmerz water colors. I added my leftover Prima flourish from our September kit, some Tim Holtz adage tickets from our August kit, and a little of my ribbon stash, but besides that, everything you see is from the lovely January kit.

I love that "Forever Love" combines bright colors with Victorian elegance - since a lot of the colors are similar it really gives a neat way to pair the different styles.

All I want for Christmas...

This week's Frosted Designs challenge was to create a project based on a Christmas song. With Sophia's gap-toothed grin this year, my choice was obvious:

This layout uses Basic Grey's Jovial line, some Sassafras Chipboard and SEI & Bo Bunny Brads. I also used Donna Salazar Smooch Spray and Stampin' Up paper.

Our current design team is sadly coming to the end of their term, and, as much as I'm going to miss each one of those talented ladies, I'm looking to add a few fresh faces to our team. Easy-Peasy & Affordable Teacher Gifts!

Every year I try to do something special for my kiddos teachers. In their school, they switch classes for EVERYTHING - even as young as Soph is in first grade. Which of course means that they've both got a bunch of teachers. Since I'm still waiting to win the lottery, I figured I'd do some quick and easy handmade gifts for each of them.


For this cute ornament, I altered a coaster from a neighborhood restaurant. If you're really nice to your server when you ask, you might even get a whole sleeve of these coasters for free!

I layered some Bo Bunny and Close To My Heart papers, and ran my CTMH cardstock through the Texture Boutique before scalloping. Everything was distressed & put together. I found fun, bright ribbons in my stash, added buttons and the hanger, then a sweet snowman stamp from The Angel Company, and painted him in with my pearly paint. The entire process took about 15 minutes. Not too shabby, right? I put these in a little gift bag with some homemade goodies for an extra special treat.

Keep it Simple Sister - Sparkling Holiday Card

I love a good, easy project. Especially in the hectic winter months! So when American Crafts posted their weekly challenge for quick & easy Christmas cards last week, I was thrilled. Perfect inspiration for the few minutes I had available for mid-week creating.


After digging through my scrap box, I came across a sheet of white American Crafts cardstock that my daughter had run through my Texture Boutique several times, with several different embossing folders. I loved the finished product - kind of a random, shabby chic type of feel. Especially after a dusting of iridescent powder to give it an extra shine. I also had a scrap of American Crafts Letterbox patterned paper (in Sir), which also got a dusting of the iridescent powder. It coordinated perfectly with my leftover stash of the striped grosgrain and adorable Dear Lizzy Christmas rub-ons (both, coincidentally, American Crafts, from the June and December Lucky Girl Crafts kits). Woohoo! Who doesn't love when that happens, right?! A little bling just enhanced the rub-on phrase.

Asking for prayers...

for my beautiful DT sister Li-bee-ti at Frosted Designs. She lives in Israel - literally, a half a world away, and at a time when she should be celebrating Hanukkah, she is instead mourning the loss of friends and fearing for the safety of more friends and family.

A huge wildfire has spread through her home town of Haifa, where her mom and brother still live, along with life-long friends. More than 40 are reported dead and many others missing. Already, the fire has devastated more than 7,000 acres. With dry, hot weather and strong winds forecasted, this is a terrible time for our friends over there. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers - hopefully they'll receive a holiday miracle.
