C'mon & get scrappy! Our Homemade Happiness party is in full swing!

Hi friends! I'm so glad you were able to join us for this month's party. I was able to play with Homemade Happiness kit all weekend long at a retreat with my favorite friends, and got more than EIGHT layouts, SIX cards and a Friday Fun Day project with beautiful details.

You can't beat the value you get with Lucky Girl Crafts kits - just $29.99 when you purchase it individually, or even more affordable with one of our subscriptions or our awesome March monthly deal -
I used the Echo Park "For the Record" Borders & Apron Strings papers, along with two of the Making Memories buttons and an organza flower to create a layered fan-fold flower. This awesome, unique embellishment was pretty easy to do, and it went perfectly with the muted colors of the K&Co. ephemera and Prima Damsels (flowers) - everything that could be found in this month's amazing kit, "Homemade Happiness". Can you tell that I just ADORE this kit?!

Friday Fun Day & a repurposed project!

It's Friday, which means it's time for the Lucky Girl Crafts
FRIDAY FUN DAY CHALLENGE
Where imitation is the highest form of flattery!
Today I've got another project from our fantastic February kit, "Kid at Heart". The bright colors & versatile designs are so perfect for projects in a wide variety of themes. Just pop on over to the store blog to check out the wide array of projects the Lucky Girls have created!
Sophia the inspiration this week. I'm blessed to be able to work in a kiddo-friendly environment, so she and Andrew are often in the office after school. While I love them being there, sometimes they just need more entertainment than I can provide. Hence, this week's project is a busy box, filled with trinkets and small games, that I created from a repurposed plastic berry box.
For a full tutorial on creating your own Busy Box, check out the store blog . Don't forget to post your own project that was inspired by any of the February Friday Fun Day projects for a chance to win one of the Lucky Girl Crafts upcoming March kits, "Homemade Happiness"!

Silly little beasts...

With the big storm that {finally} hit our little corner of the country, my weekend plan to have a great date night with my hubby in the big city was cancelled. Instead, I used that time to hunker down and craft - and move our date night to dinner at a yummy new restaurant here in town. All in all a pretty perfect Saturday!

I came across this fun PageMaps sketch and awesome Sassafras Lass papers that were hiding in my stash that I thought would be perfect for our late night yum-fest at Yogurtland we had on our last California trip.

I added some of the Prima Little Boy flowers from the February Lucky Girl Crafts kit, some hand-drawn "stitching" and funky embellies to complete the fun feel.

Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope you have a fantatic, scrap-happy week!

Feel the Love color challenge - Frosted Designs

TGIF, my friends! I'm So glad the weekend is finally here! Mine is going to be filled with a night out to the chocolate extravaganza with my girlies, followed by date night in the city with my hubby and our close friends, then church & spring cleaning on Sunday. I'm jazzed!
I'm so glad you're able to join me today for the color challenge at Frosted Designs! This week, all of our projects could only use red, white & pink. Here's my take on it:
I used some of my scraps from the February LCG "Kid at Heart" kit, plus a bunch of flowers, sequins and buttons from my stash. Even though, admittedly, I have issues with "clashing" red and pink left over from middle school, I'm digging the way it turned out.

Be sure to join us for this week's Frosted Designs challenge, and a chance to win our February prize!

Fun & Fanciful - LGC Blog Party FINAL DAY!

Hello! We've almost made it through the week - woohoo! This is also the last day of the February Lucky Girl Crafts blog party, celebrating our latest kit, "Kid at Heart". This kit is awesome, and so jammed pack that today isn't actually the last time you'll see my projects from it this month. I've got so many more to share with you, but for today, I'll give you two projects!
Before we get to my latest projects, though, have you visited the rest of the Lucky Girls? Each of them has a prize to give away, and the new team is rocking our latest kit! Be sure to check them out & give them a warm welcome - their links are in the posting above.
In the spirit of our celebration, here's a little birthday card. I love the little animals from the Prima papers, especially paired with the vintage-funk of the Echo Park patterns and metallic Studio 54 adhesive embellies. Don't they make just sweet little balloons?
And finally, a little tribute to a family stay-cation. We brought my mother-in-law to town for a round of mini golf, and the fun number paper was a perfect mimicking of our score cards - especially since we don't really keep accurate scores.
I did a lot of fussy-cutting here, with the Echo Park flowers. I further embellished them with the Mod Podge Dimensional Glaze and pop dots, which created a natural curled effect. I also added Dimensional Glaze to the centers of the small green flowers, and, though you can't really tell, to the glittered chipboard Thickers. I really love how that turned out!
