A different take on cards...

I know - you're probably thinking that I have some weird card obsession at this point, right? =)

I really don't make cards very often at all and am more of a scrapper at heart, so I figured I'd give all of you scrappers in blog land another take on cards that you'd enjoy too.

I created this mini album with four pre-printed card bases and three envelopes, some ribbon & fun embellisments, plus a very little bit of coordinating cardstock (like three 4 x 5-1/2 pieces). And that's it! This mini-album takes maybe 45 minutes to make, start to finish, if you don't have all of your supplies right in front of you or want to embellish more than I have done here.

I used all Close To My Heart products, including 1/3 of the Cute as a Button My Originals Card Kit (the whole kit has 12 pre-printed card base designs, three sheets of Stickease cardstock sticker accents - none of which I used on my project - and four envelopes for just $12.95!) I used the Friendship Word Puzzle & Simple Beauty My Acrylix stamp sets, Blush, Chocolate and Sweet Leaf Inks; Colonial White Designer Ribbon Rounds Collection, Cottage Edge Anchors and the Shades of Chocolate Mini-Medley Accent Collection.

Here's what an inside page looks like:

I added pictures to the back of the cards, too:

I used plain white envelopes, instead of the vellum included in the card kit, because the plain envelopes were much sturdier. I cut off the flaps, stamped on both sides of the envelopes and inserted a stamped piece of coordinating cardstock to be used as journaling tags once everything is put together.

I did use one of the Stickease for the very back - it fit the closing sentiment perfectly!

Thanks for looking!

Fun & Funky Cards

For some reason I have been on such a huge card kick lately. I always forget to send them out, but at least I'll have a stash ready next time I remember to send one! I've also been exploring my stash of stuff and have found the most amazing things that I have never used. I bet you know how that goes, though!

Here are two fun cards that I've put together recently. I'm really excited about how they've turned out!

This one is my "Use That Stash" card because most of the things I used I've had for AGES! It uses the Butterfly Wings stamp set and Whoops-A-Daisy papers from Close To My Heart. The Black & Breeze Cardstocks, Hydrangea and Sweet Leaf inks are also Close To My Heart. I think the ribbon is from a wedding gift I received 10 years ago or something equally strange like that. The Bling is Colorbok. The pop dots & saying is from a Stampin' Up set - not sure if it's currently available because I stamped that forever ago! The fun little purple clip I had from a Target Dollar Spot set a while back.

This is my Pretty In Pink monochromatic self-challenge. The papers and stamps and ink are from Close To My Heart (Notebook papers, Nursery Bash stamp set, blush ink). The white flowers and stitching is hand-doodled with a Gelly Roll pen. I layered a fat and funky button with a Target Dollar Spot brad I got a long time ago, and tied it all together with some pretty frilly girl ribbon I got at JoAnn's several years ago.
Do you recognize the look to these two cards? They're also from the 2Sketches4You sketch I did for my last card. Don't you just love the many looks you can get from one sketch? So much fun!
Thanks for looking - now I'm off to finish my project for our Girls Night Out Crop - tomorrow night. I'll try to share that when I get done too!

2 Sketches 4 You Anniversary Card Challenge Entry

Hi all,

I was blog hopping again recently and came across a fun challenge on the 2 Sketches 4 You blog with awesome prizes. I'm not one to enter challenges very often because I don't usually remember until the last minute, but since the kiddos were spending time and Nana & Poppa's and Michael and I had a date night, I figured it was a perfect chance to enter!

Here's the original sketch - Laura's Sketch 27 from the 2 Sketches 4 You blog:

Here's my take on it:

The popped-out letters were inspired by Amy B's "Hi" card. I loved how she gave the Stickease letters more dimension by putting them on coordinating cardstock and cutting them out with her MicroTip scissors, so I gave it a try here, too.

I love how this card turned out! It was so easy and there was absolutely NO STAMPING! It's all made with Close To My Heart Stickease (cardstock stickers) and coordinating papers from their Emporium line. The ribbon is stuff I've had forever, and the pretty pin is from Stampin' Up's Pretties Kit.

Thanks for looking! I hope you have a great day!
