First Day / First Grade

:00Hi friends & happy weekend! I had some down time last night, so I popped in Grease and took over my kitchen table to get some crafting done. Not before I spent an hour or so browsing for new inspiration, though! My cyber travels took me to Got Sketch?, Page Maps and Scrapbook & Cards Today blogs, and combined inspiration from the colors, layouts and embellies to create this fun layout to enter for the American Crafts 5 Photos Facebook challenge:

This layout combines three paper lines from American Crafts: Letterbox, Botanique, and Dear Lizzy Enchanted. I added my all-time favorite Thickers along with some altered Dear Lizzy Enchanted ribbons from this month's Lucky Girl Crafts kit.

I took the seafoam green and white velvet ribbon and cut it down the middle, then gathered it for a ruffled look. I also took one of the blossoms from the coral rose ribbon and added some bling and vintage buttons in the center, and a ribbon "leaf" for my central flower.

My layout was inspired off of this sketch from Scrapbook & Cards Today. I took my favorite elements from the two page spread and altered it to fit my needs on a single page layout:

Thanks for stopping by!

You did great! As I always say there is no wrong way to create a scrapbook layout. You don't even have to use the sketch to play along. I have actually been using to just get caught up on layouts so none of mine have been for the month the layout was created. Keep up the good work.

My littlest one just started 1st grade last week! (Hello from the other side of the slope, by the way)
