Summer Vacation Blog Party Hop - Day 2 - Polka Dot Parade!

Thanks for joining us for the second day of our three-day Blog Party hop for the new Lucky Girl Crafts kit, Summer Vacation!!!

The LUCKY GIRL BLOG PARTY runs Thursday, July 1 through Saturday, July 3
Each day of the Blog Party, our incredibly talented, amazingly awesome design team will be posting a new project for you that was created with the July kit – Summer Vacation! Oh, and did I mention that each Lucky Girl has MYSTERY PRIZES to give away, with a GRAND PRIZE on the main blog?

The Summer Vacation kit is packed with so many bright and bold colors that are perfect for every occasion. Today, I played with the polka-dot designs in two of the double-sided patterned paper to create some fun layouts of my growing-up-way-too-fast son.

For the first layout, I used Creative Scrappers Sketch #110, as seen by clicking the link here. I'm excited that Lucky Girl Crafts will be sponsoring a few of their sketches in the near future, so be sure to check them out!

I stretched the My Mind's Eye Savvy Daring Dot paper - which had the bright dots on one side, and on the other, a tone-on-tone nearly solid red design with a fabulous flourish. I took a little time and cut out the flourish, then cut out the little bracket design that is pre-printed as an extra on the same sheet. So, minus the one sheet of patterned paper, I just used my American Crafts Pool cardstock, Cosmo Cricket stickers and American Crafts Pearl Brad. to finish it off.

Here's another paper-stretching layout.

I trimmed a portion out of the My Mind's Eye Ledger Girl double-sided die cut paper to utilize both the ledger and polka dot designs on the paper.

There's just something about a double-sided die cut paper that makes me swoon.

And ta-da - with layering the patterned paper and a little extra glue around the edges of my cut-out frame, the finished product is done!

Love this double sided paper. Gorgeous layout of your boys! Favorite summer memory has to be when I married my husband 12 years ago in July. It was a perfect amazing day that has shaped the rest of my life.
